Col. John A. Brunderman, Class of ’77, USAF Retired Military Leader

John was an outstanding athlete at Sahuaro and the Air Force Academy. He graduated from Sahuaro in 1977, third in his class; and from the Academy, 86th out of 843. His first years in the Air Force were spent as a pilot and instructor. John developed a revolutionary software program for scheduling aircrews for which he received an Air Force Productivity Enhancement of the Year award in 1989. On September 11, 2001, John was stationed at the Pentagon and was instrumental in coordinating military communications during the crisis.

In addition to a very successful and oftawarded military career, John started his own business in 1991. The BrunderBach is a software business, which develops software for commercial clients. John has two sons, the eldest, Eric, is with the United States Marine Corps; Adam, the younger son, is a 2010 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. John is also very involved in his church, the Parkway Bible Church in Springfield, VA.
